Here’s an interesting use of Bluetooth technology. I’m pretty suprised by it because it doesn’t seem to be a great use of Bluetooth. For starters, the range isn’t that great with only up to 10 meters although that probably should be fine for small setups.

The bandwidth issue we’ve discussed here is also interesting. I’m curious about how the quality is. Personally, this isn’t too compelling but I find it interesting because it’s Bluetooth….and who says Bluetooth is dead? 

Hey Groovy, weren’t we talking about Bluetooth enabled headphones in a previous post…? Wasnt the consensus that said headphones wouldn’t have the necessary bandwidth to achieve decent audio quality? What’s up with this? Has anybody bought these things? Is the quality any good? ...I’m thinking about these then…if it wasn’t for the fact that i’ve already rigged this with 802.11!  hehe

One of my big problems with BT headphones would be battery life, but that doesn’t seem to be an issue here. 10m (about 30 feet) is decent enough range for most cables and pretty impressive for BT. If it compresses the audio decently, it might be a cool product. Certainly won’t replace my bi-wire speaker cables.  8)

Interesting product, even though I already have a Roku Soundbridge that does the same thing with better range. I wonder if DLink is using proprietary tech to make this work, since in addition to not having enough bandwidth, Bluetooth doesn’t even have a profile for hi-fi audio at the moment.

I was the one that spoke of BT headphones and was told it won’t be possible…even though there is BT headphones for cell phones.
