i just turned on my tr and noticed that my scroll function (on the touch pad) doesn’t seem to work.  i’ve gone to the touch pad menu to make sure that the function was still in tact as far as the comp knows, and it is.  i know some ppl have had trouble using this scroll before, stating that it’s not smooth, but i’ve never had any trouble up to this point.  oh yeah, i’ve also tried updating my drivers, but still no luck.  i was just wondering if anyone had the same problem or a possible correction to my problem.  sorry, i would trouble shoot some more, but i’m a little pressed for time because i have a verilog program to finish for class tomorrow… well if anyone can help or suggest something, that would be great… thanks everyone

I know this sounds crazy.  Don’t everyone lynch me at once.  Call Sony tech support.

Since it osund like you already have lots of data on your TR, back everything up to a folder in the D: partion, or any other partition, and use the recovery system.  I was having problems with my shortcut buttons and that clears everything up.  I dunno you probably thought about it already but….that is just my suggestion.  :?

thanks for the suggestion.  i thought about doing that cuz the lack of touch pad scroll was really pissing me off.  but i just turned on my tr a while back and things seem to be back to normal.  i guess it was just a fluke. oh well tho, thanks for the suggestion anyways, i love the response on this site.

its no fluke. ive had exactly the same problem like 2 days after i got my tr3a. my up/down scroll works fine but the forward/back has stopped and now does a left/right scroll. i have checked the touch pad control panel and cannot fix it using that. reinstall? come on that is bullshit to fix such a lame problem? im hoping me or someone else will find a solution soon… no doubt the tards at sony support would pretend they have never heard of this problem despite the fact that we are no doubt the tip of the ice berg.

but…. I LOVE MY TR3A especially now ive found these forums and all the modding info for the stuff i always suspected would be possible!

I’ve had my TR for about a month, and this just happened to me.  Did anyone ever find a fix?  I tried disabling then re-enabling the function, but to no avail.  Very frustrating, because I use the scroll thing all the time.

All I had to do was shut down and power off.  When I booted up a minute later, all was well again.  Not sure if just rebooting would have worked.  Must be a driver bug of some kind.  Glad it’s not a hardware problem.
