That is an impressive looking set. Does anyone know why it is so difficult to find a Bluetooth trackball (not a mouse with a scroll wheel on it). I have not been able to locate one and I am a confirmed trackball user and have been ever since the BIG old Kensington Expert Mouse many years ago. I like the newer generation Logitech trackballs (preferably finger control/not thumb) but have had no luck finding a BT model from any maker.
Tough call. The black would definitely look better with the Logitech keyboard/media pad/mouse. The white matches the TR better. You are going to have to succumb to your own sense of style and aesthetics. Post pictures when you have completed the conversion.
I have been taking a long look at the diNovo for a while, but two things turn me off: It’s not an ergonomic split keyboard and it has a separate number pad… You see I use the arrow keys for FPS games and in most games I assign KP_INS to be use and KP_END for crouch…
I like like logitech trackballs as well. I had called them regarding a BT trackball. Unfortunately, at least in the near future, they had no plans for one either.
Lucian…err…Drachen is using Samurize to do the weather stuff. You’ll need the latest weather script to do that one. There’s actually several different ones to choose from. I believe the specific one he’s using is this one .
Back to the logitech bluetooth stuff…it is kind of neat but I wish they had other colors as I would prefer something brighter or silver colored. The other somewhat surprising thing is that it’s not an ergonomic keyboard. You would think the top of the line stuff would be ergonomic (even though I don’t use an ergonomic keyboard).
I hate ergonomic keyboard’s and i’ve been looking at this for a while now…my hold off is the lack of a BT Trackball…if I still need my RF, I don’t need this BT Keyboard…right now my keyboard and mouse run off the same RF.
Yeah, that’s a good point. I like wireless peripherals but they need to start standardizing all of this stuff. I don’t want 3 different wireless points for the various different devices. I.e. different RF or Ir or BT connections. Of course, the thought was that BT would solve this mess and make it easy to connect the various peripherals only needing a single “wireless hub”. Of course, new technology (i.e. wireless USB or even wi-fi preipherals) threathens to fragment the market even more unless these solutions are rock solid and well supported.
Bluetooth still has a chance but it going to take a vendor with some vision and balls to get it right.

Amen. As much as I dislike the BT concept, and I did buy the BT part for the TR just because, I would like to see the concept succeed for my uses, meaning all things wireless to be BT…although I doubt it will happen.
“Hello gr00vy”: That’s the script. I’ve added a link to my sig to a page with links to the UI stuff I use. [I firmly believe I was one of only 3 people on earth that liked that movie.]
Sony Vaio: Thanks. Now the entire Logitech site is in Schweizdeutsch. (Yes, I know enough German to fix it…)
BT’s only real chance for success in the PC space will only be if MS gets XP SP2 right.
I just spent the day in Nagoya and shopped about eight computer stores looking for new BT items. It was disappointing. Not one BT trackball. Pretty much the same stuff available in the US, a few with different packaging. By the way I printed the BT part numbers and pictures of the installation (a must when you can’t speak Japanese) and all the store employees were shocked with the prospect of “customizing” a VAIO. It must be considered sacrilege here. It was worth it for the looks on their faces. Unfortunately no BT modules or coax cables were available here and it was frustrating to see all the TRs with BT installed already.
