hi,

to leave my original sony battery ‘like new’, i mostly use two replacement batteries (2000mAh + 2200mAh).
they are a few years old and now running with low capacity (ca. 15 min running time), which - i think - is to be expected.

in the last weeks i ordered 2 new replacement batteries (2200mAh , ) from different suppliers.
both batteries didn’t work, showing the error code on led, impossible to charge them or even to power on the x505.

does anyone has made similar experiences ?

the strange thing is, that the new not working ‘error’ replacement ones look like the old replacement batteries (similar labels),
which work o.k. despite their low capacity.

i will now order and test a 2000mAh replacement battery (PSE Code : NSN017).
and i have discovered, that there is a new Denaq DQ-BP505-3 2400mAh battery out - but quite expensive shipping this to europe.

any suggestions, experiences or ratings are welcome.

oh no not agin ....

3 weeks ago the nsn017 replacement battery arried.
on ebay the battery was labeled as 2000mAh, nsn017

it comes out as :

in fact it is a 2200mAh modell, labeled as “nsn017.X”

.... what more to say, the battery doesn’t work.

when i plug it into the laptop, no power up. that is to be expected cause it maybe fully discharged.
plugging in the ac adapter, no error, led light showing charging status. ok, until here.

but the battery does not charge at all !
power up with ac adapter after 30 min, windows still showing charged status at 0%.
when i pull the ac adapter, trying to run on battery, the laptop “dies” immediately.

year 2300

a few days ago, my 4th try arrived :

it works, it works ..........

the battery comes fully discharged. charging with ac adaptor takes about 90min.

the battery has a slightly different color than my other ones: a little bit darker and more “blueish”.
(the old ones fit the original color of the x505 perfect).
but no issue for me (any more )

with wireless lan “on” and constant video playback (small mpg file), the battery “lives” about 2h, or even a bit longer.

the battery costs about 60€ (incl. shipping)

i havn’t ordered the denaq 2400mAh until now, because it’s only available in the usa (shipping, times, shipping back if it doesn’t work, etc.)

so that the 2300 mAh battery works well on my x505, i decided to buy
a second one from a different store (http://www.akkuland.de).

the battery is listed as :

after 8 weeks delivery time the battery comes out as :

even the invoice still claims that it is a 2300 mAh modell.

the battery comes 50% charged. no errors. works well until now.
i will post some “running times” when the battery has gone through some charging cycles.

similar to the previous one, the battery has a slight blueish colour.
