the more i look around this site the more i envy some people and their confidence to open up their comps and play around a little.  personally, i’m scared to death about screwing up my investment, even though i feel perfectly okay messing around with my desktops.  which leads me to my question, has anyone thought about replacing their small tr speakers with something a little more powerful? i’m looking to totally replace my speakers so that i don’t have to carry around travel speakers or earphones.  if anyone has opened up the top portion of their tr (the top part with the screen) and checked out how much room is really in there, please tell me, any info would help, thanks.

sounds interesting. what kinda of speakers do you have in mind?

I dont think you could put anything in that small of a space and get real quality sound.  Even Bose, who makes excellent sound come from small speaker enclosures, hasn’t come out with anything quite that small.  I would think the biggest challenges would be in the low end acoustics.  You kinda need the low end to complete your audio experience, right?

i guess just get some good noise cancelling headphones..
