I have been looking at the new Europeon version of TR (i.e. TR2MP) in the SonyStyle-Europe website, and apparently I am quite confused with the specifications listed there. I hope someone here can help me to answer the following question, thanks:

1. What is the REAL screen resolution of the new TR2MP? In the SonyStyle website, it stated it is 1024x768 WXGA, which sounds wierd to me…as for my understanding, the resolution should be 1280x768 right? I tried to look back at the old TR1MP, it even more wierd, it stated it is 1280x1024 SXGA?? My god…can someone who has owned the TR2MP or has the information please confirm the REAL screen resolution?  :?:

2. What is the writting/reading speed of the CD-RW/DVD combo drive in the new TR2MP? As I couldn’t find it in the website as well… :cry:

3. Does the TR2MP (which has the built-in integrated Bluetooth) come with the Sony BlueSpace software?

4. Does the TR2MP has the built-in microphone?

5. Does the TR2MP has the Centrino sticker on it? (hehe…)  8)

Hi Patrick, I’ve a TR2MP Italian vesion from 2 days,

1. screen resolution is 1280x768
2. Nero report x4x12x20x24 - Matshita UJDA 755 DVD/CDRW V.1.00
3. BlueSpace is included
4. built-in microphone too
5. there was a Centrino sticker, but I have already removed it

I’m really impressed by my new toy, btw it also come with XP pro (not home) and Microsoft Works preloaded; on http://shop.sonystyle-europe.com that was not mentioned.

I am a little bit disappointed from the hd speed.
Any hint to improve it?

Many thanks for sharing your information!  :D I have just visited the Italian SonyStyle website and apparently it says the TR2MP does only come with XP Home Edition, which is the same as what UK SonyStyle states…. Did you ask them about the XP version before you make the order? Do you think this is done by mistakenly installed the wrong XP version into your machine :?: , OR it is just the information in the website which is wrongly listed (obviously lots of them are wrong…)? :?:

By the way, can I ask how long did you wait to receive your machine after placing the order? Also, did you receive the Recovery CD/DVD together with your machine? Or you have to burn it yourself?

I didn’t ask SonyStyle about the version of XP, and I think a mistake on
their website is more likely than an installation one.

I pre-ordered the TR2MP at SonyStyle on February, 6.
The delivery was scheduled for ‘the end of February’ and people from
Sony customer service told me it would probable arrive at Sony Europe
Belgium on 25-2.

I choose the express shipment and received theTR2MP the day after: 26-2.

Recovery disks came in 2 set:
A-8119-262-A (2 DVDs) and A-8119-265-A (1 DVD)
I’m exploring them now and I see XP is pro version.

I called Sonystyle UK yesterday and they offered me a few promotional options which sound quite good:

1. An 10% OFF the original price which is GBP1799 if I upgrade additional 512MB RAM (GBP 279),

    i.e. Total price = GBP1799 - GBP179.90 +279 = GBP1898.1 with totally 1GB RAM! OR,

2. Get a FREE U30 or U60 Sony digital camera (worth GBP 179/229) with the original price (GBP1799), OR

3. Get a FREE 3 Years Extended Warranty with the original price (GPB1799)

Ale: I’m wondering did you have any promotional offer when you made your purchase? How much you paid for your machine then?

I might make an order tomorrow and go for the Option 1…hmmm…still considering… :wink:  Hopefully I will get a XP Pro like yours too!  8)

By the way, has anyone here in UK got their TR2MP with any other special deal with SonyStyle UK?

It will have XP Pro on as all UK models do. The P on the end of the model name is for XP Pro.
