Hi,

I just bought a TX5MN (having fallen down the stairs with my T1XP destroying the screen and breaking something inside too!!).

The problem I am having is that I bought a ‘compatible’ battery from e-bay and when I install it, although it powers the laptop fine, a warning comes up telling me it wont work and I need to hibernate the machine and remove the battery! Is there a work around or can I not use compatible batterys with this machine?

What I have heard several times is that there is a peice of Sony software that does this and if you remove the software, then the third party batteries will work just fine, its just Sony doesn’t want you to.
