What do you guys think of it? I myself was looking at Asus’s other 11.1” notebook, the S6 series and even though I don’t own it, lament that why the U1 has a fingerprint reader and webcam but not the higher end U1?

I’m mixed about the lack of built in optical drive in it. I many times do not use it especially while travelling, but it would be nice to dock it onto the notebook if that is possible for when I want to use it as a portable dvd player or whatnot.

It will use a 1.06 ghz Core Duo ULV processor versus 1.5/1.66 LV Core Duo in the S6s. I wonder what the battery life will be and this chip will end up in Sony’s T series?

I always like to have an integrated optical drive with me, primarily for watching movies while I am travelling with time on my hands.

I was beginning to fall in love with the OQO model02; but in the end, I much rather have it built in. I am still in love with the Vaio TX, and hoping for a Core Duo version.

Since the U1 uses a 1.06 ghz ULV Core Duo processor, we should be seeing this chip in a Vaio TX or new iteration any time now. 

Your right, I also like to have an optical drive with me, even though I rarely use it whilst traveling with it. It would be nice if the Asus U1 could dock with the optical drive on the bottom or something like that. Have it on when you need it and take it off when ya don’t, flexibility!!!!
