I bought a Sony DSC S500 digital camera two months ago. 

A camara technician has diagnosed a manufacturing defect in the internal hardware. The camera turns itself off as soon as I turn it on. 

I am in Mexico. I bought the camera during a trip to Panama. My girlfriend misplaced the guarantee. The Sony people in Mexico have offered no help. 

How can I get Sony to help me replace or repair the camera free of charge, please?
