I have an opportunity to buy a TR3A for $500 is this a decent deal?  Will it be flippable for profit on ebay if I decide to not keep it?

Yeah, I think that’s a really good deal IMO. Even if you decide to get rid of it, I think they’re going for just under $1k on eBay, if I’m not mistaken.

...depends on the cosmetic condition… banged up (but working fine) TR3As have gone for that price range on ebay recently.

So, I managed to score a TX790P from a guy off of Craigslist. Granted it does have a vertical white band going down the screen but $460 hey.  :D
