I’m pretty sure it will be available in the US. I was walking past the Sony store in NYC on Madison and 55th last week and they had it and a James Bond-themed UX in the outdoor display windows.
Hi everyone. New to this board. I ordered the 007 TX bundle last week and hope to have it early next week. I am looking forward to getting it. I currently have a UX90 from Japan with 32 gb solid state drive. I love the UX but really missing having a keyboard and larger screen. I think the UX and TX make a great combo. Between the two I think I will have all my needs covered. I have been looking for a site dedicated to the TX series. This site seems the closest I have come. Seems like no one here has the 007 TXN?
ps….how can I add a signature? I didn’t see an option to add one in the profile section. (update 1/11/07: after I had a certain number of posts the option to have a signature appeared in the profile section. I think it was 15 posts. I guess that is the minimum you need here to have a signature. fyi)
Yeah, I have a feeling you’ll be the first and probably only one here to have the TXN007 bundle, I’d like to get it if I wasn’t so poor. Enjoy and would you mind giving us a review perhaps? :wink:

Poor. Well that’s relative. I just love my toys. I live in an apartment and take public transportation! Where I live in NYC, a metrocard gets me anywhere I want to go on the subway I recycle my tech gear in my family. Getting this TX bundle means my 11 year old son gets a laptop I used to use at work. It works like that. As I upgrade, he or my wife gets my old gear. Anyway, it works for me. Most folks in the USA need a car to get around. Living in NYC, I can get away with taking the subway. I save thousands of dollars a year that way: no gas to buy, no insurance, no repair bills, no auto payments. (I pay Sony instead!)
Of course, I’d love to write about it when I get it. I am sure I will spend the first month on it amap. It’s a shame there isn’t a larger user base online for the TX series. For the UX series, there is the micropctalk website. I had thought there’d be more TXes sold than UXes and that their owners would be as passionate about their units as UX owners are (That’s to say, I am surprised there isn’t an active website dedicated just to the TX series).
I got the 007 TX bundle today. I need time to set up everything, but here are some quick impressions. The case: unfortunately mine was damaged in transit. It is dented and the left side lock is messed up. It does look cool and is thinner than I imagined. But the lock mechansm is kind of chessy. I will see what the the exchange case is like when I get it. But it seems like they did cut corners with the lock. Inside the case, the fit is tight for the TX. I think it might be a probelm for the flip up antenna
a…it kinda gets squeezed. (I might shave off the sides a bit on the foam)That flip up antenna is a bit flimsy. The antenna on my UX is much better, more solid. The camera does look cool, better in my hand than in the picture. Smaller and ligher than I thought. Other than the Antenna, so far TX seems great But I haven’t done much with it yet. I will be getting a case for it definately; the antenna has me worried. More to come later….
ps…my number was 154/500. If they are selling them in order, then I guess they really aren’t selling well…
I actually haven’t even seen the movie yet. I may see it this weekend. Pics…of what? The case? TX? Camera? Or the UX compared to the TX? I am getting more used to the TX. I had felt the screen was kinda of flimsy. But now I make sure I riase it or lower it by touching it in the middle rather than on either side and it feels more secure. The screen is really thin. Pics to come this weekend….
Ok I took about 10 pics. Now I see this site can’t upload them. So I need to upload them to a site like picasa or flickr? Is that what I need to do? And then once it is on flick then I put the url in a post….that’s the way I need to do it?
