When I turn on the system you can see the bottom of the LCD screen as being VERY bright/washed out.  Is this typically normal on the TX770P series of computers? 

The colors are noticeably washed out at the bottom from the LED’s brightness.  Also the lighting does not seem to be even.

Vell i have same thing. So i assume this is normal for TX series

I dont have this problem on my 770P.

If this is the bright bar at the bottom of the screen that I think you’re talking about… its also present on my S170.  I’ve noticed this same issue on many VAIO’s.  Since I’ve seen this on my previous VAIO, its become a Sony genuine seal for me.

It’s also a fault my friends(toshiba owners) never let me live down.

The TX screen is backlit by LEDs rather than a cold cathode.  Sony still has some work to do on diffusing this light, so it’s brighter on the bottom.
