I’ve recently did a reinstallation of my Vaio T series, even with 1 GB memory, somehow, I can feel that it’s not as fast as I want it to be.  I feel this specially on bootup.  I used the recovery DVD provided.  It has so many apps included that I find it slow to boot even immediately after recovery (after the second stage when it does application recovery).  However, if I don’t do application recovery, it says that system may be unstable.  How true is this?  I can patch up windows XP by downloading the latest patches from Microsoft.  Has anyone reinstalled this model without the apps?  Is it any faster?  I find it very fully loaded.  Any suggestions?  Memory for this model is only 1 GB max.  Or am I wrong?
