ive been looking to see if the X505 can have its drive replaced by the soon to come out Nand SSD drives from samsung from what i can tell from the specifications(novice) it looks like it should fit and have the same interface ATA5 UDMA Mode4, please correct me if im wrong here is a link to the specification pdf http://www.dvnation.com/images/SSD_spec_preliminary_v03.pdf

also i was curious if anyone knows if the cpu and or memory is soddered down

Welcome to the forum.

Don’t know about the Nand SSD drives.

But I can tell you that the CPU and memory are not socketed.  Both are soldered and cannot be upgraded.  Search around the X505 pages .. there’s a thread discussing disassembly with pictures.
