I formatted and repartitioned the drive out of the box. It’s what I do. I don’t like having all the preinstalled software on my machine.
Then I realized I can’t download the drivers from Sony.
I have managed to get everything working except the sound card. Can anyone here:
* Tell me the name/model number of the sound card and who the manufacturer is?
* Share the sound card driver with me?
I love the machine, but I loathe Sony for what they have done wrt the drivers for these machines. I’ve already had an e-mail exchange and chat with Sony support and they were incredibly unhelpful.
Anyone thinking of buying a machine from Sony who may be reading this: DON’T. I cannot recommend enough going with a manufacturer who lets you do what you want with your computer, not what they want.
