Just when I needed a new Anti-virus software, you pros recommended me Grisoft’s AVG, which is wonderful. Now I need a new Firewall, hopefully something that needs minimal configuration.

What would you recommend?

Try Comodo at http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/. PCMag highly recommends it. I am trying it out and so far so good.

although i’m not running it currently, i have always liked kerio, it’s been picked up by sunbelt after being dropped by the original software vendor that wrote it…comes in free and full versions…very nice, light weight, worked wonderfully for me, but I’m travelling less these days and I’m behind a pretty hard-core hardware firewall setup here at home, so not as much need for one these days…will probably look at it again, but for now, my hardware setup keeps me happy and clean.

I am using security by AVG and I got no problem with it. Found this free “R-Firewall” [www.r-firewall.com] when trialling their drive-imaging software. Has a few extra features and very easy to set up even remotely because it prompts you to automatically allow any detected local IP range and VNC server software during the installation process.
