Will any of these hard drives fit and work in my TR1MP?

Hitachi Travelstar C4K60 40GB U100 2MB -  mfr#: 08K1530

Toshiba 40GB 1.8” 2MB 4200RPM U100 -  mfr#: MK4006GAH

Toshiba 40 Gb MK-4008GAH 1.8” ATA-6, 4200 rpm, 2MB Cache 15 ms

Toshiba 60 Gb MK-6006GAH 1.8” ATA-6, 4200 rpm, 2MB Cache 15 ms

My Toshiba MK4004GAH is going to gettin’ old. I wanna replace it before crashing. What are the differences between my current model and the newer I found in a shop? What about the build-in heating :evil: , Still burning laps?

I guess I can replace the old one with the device above mentioned?!!!

PS: What about replacing my MK4004GAH by an 8MB Cache-device? Any possibilities?

AFAIK Toshiba MK4008GAH uses ZIF socket which is not compatible with your TR2, but you can replace yours with MK4006GAH, MK6006GAH or maybe the latest one, MK8007GAH that is used on latest TX series.

Found MK4006GAH for 111,- EUR on ebay. This HDD comes with 8MB Cache actually , great.
