Dear Members,

I have to admit, I was relly relieved at times I read about your troubles of cameras as I had no problem what so ever, but it might be the time for me at last. Please check the pictures I post below, as this isnt exaclty the way most of you described your camera’s dying process.

Do I need to order the Sony Webcam and start replacing, or maybi its a lose connector only? When I move the camera around, it displays slightly better pictures, kind of like an old TV or monitor you have to pet in the back strongly to get a picture out of….

Sounds like intermittent contact to me.
Try to dismount your cam according to:
 

Try to reattach the CCD connectors.

If that one fails I would also check the soldering on the CCD itself (on the flex PCB), but that require a real small soldering pencil.

Hopefully this will make you cam last longer!

Thanks for that suggestion. Yes, I am familiar with that thread, I just wanted to ask if anybody have seen something similar to my problem. This is really frustrating, as I dont know if I need to buy a cam, or not.

Well, sooner or later I have to replace it, so I guess I will order one when I have a chance.

my cam showed that tonight and died…...... :cry:

weird…my cam seems to be working again…...I don’t question it though….

Yepp, my camera was working for a week also, and now out again. I will definetally take it apart this weekend, and will report back what is happening.

My came back to life and died a couple of times before giving up the ghost..
It hasn’t worked since…
Tho it did first die to a black screen at first… then later to a white screen for ages… today it’s showing black…

Just so I would satisfy my curiosity, I took the cam apart as per the popular thread describes, and to no avail. The camera is still showing black. I am going for the camera purchase for sure, and soon. Will update back.

By the way, I wasnt very good at taking the camera apart, now it has some scratch marks, and even one of the black pins broke off. My heart is in pieces….
