[quote author=“Gundam”]It’s not strange at all its good its 30g since its 5400rpm new technology instead of the old 4200rpm 1.8 drives. It’s still a 1.8 drive so mod it if you don’t like the better speeds.
Uh, what are you talking about? There are no 1.8” drives that run at 5400RPM. Check your facts.
I believe there is a misprint on Sonystyle description page of UX180P where it mentions 30 Gig HD (5400 Rpm) and then on Specs page it lists it with 4200 Rpm. So some people get misled. I was going to email SonyStyle’s webmaster about it, but did not get to it.

ON SPECS PAGE:
ya thats where i got it from. Maybe it was too good to be true lol.
My only doubt is that it only had 512MB Ram… I really want one, but there will be no way on earth it will run vista with 512MB, heck, even XP is like a dog with 512!
Also in the above photo, they’re talking using skype, FYI.
There was another review on this new product (linked at Engadget) yesterday and it was pretty poor, seemed the review wasn’t impressed w/ the keyboard (almost no tactile feel) and indicated it got around 2hrs of battery life…also complained about the high-res on such a small screen…but those of us from the 505 and TR world are pretty used to that…so no biggy…but the other problems seem pretty big for something that it’s biggest draw is the portability…small keyboard and decent battery life would be a key factor in wanting to own one of these…if they were reviewing a production quality unit and a bad keyboard and 2hr battery life is the best this device can deliver, it won’t sell.
