I have a Sony Vaio TR5MP that was working fine last night, this morning it won’t turn on or charge or anything! :(

There are no lights (except on the charger) and the warrenty has run out.
Anybody have any ideas of what the problem is or how to fix it :?:

hmmm, bummer! maybe its a dead motherboard? did you ever use your tr in hot places? try using the reset button underneath the tr, but take care with it, ive seen accidents!!!!

There’s a reset button on the TR5???

I’ve had the TR5 for well over a year and I never noticed!  :oops:

it’s not a button, just a small hole where you can insert a straightened paper clip. It’s somewhere near the serial number label I think.

Tried the reset button (thanks) but nothing, still dead :cry:

uh oh :(  the only thing i can think of is a dead motherboard, unless you’re willing to buy a new one, these sell currently for at least the £200 mark in online stockists, so im guessing you have 2 options dude, either buy a new motherboard, or consider selling your tr5mp as spares / repair :(
