Hi,
I’m trying to install and extra 512MB of ram on my PCG-TR3AP notebook to get it up to 1GB. When I install it, the machine does not recognize the extra 512MB but it runs fine. Is there something I need to do to make it recognize the module.

Are you sure you plugged it right? Coze it should be automatically recognized…

you are right. The module I bought didn’t fit in like the original Sony does. I had to kind of force it in so now it works fine. thanks!

Hi I have a TR I also have the 508 RAM. My specs say 1GB max capacity. If I go over by lets say adding a 512 to my current 508 would this mess up my PC? Should I use a 258 instead?

As you can tell I’m a Noob and a student. I am grateful for sites like this and the friendly help ofcourse :wink: Can anyone reccomend static bands and screwdriver kits? I do NOT wanna fry my board! I’m currently using my sunglass kit…LOL

No. Adding 512 to your machine will put at the 1GB mark. 1GB=1024MB
