Thought I would share some news about new and refreshed VAIOs from Japan.
Let’s start with the new stuff:
1. VAIO introduced a new line: L series
It seems to resemble some VAIO W and M series, but this time you can detach the keyboard. When you close that keyboard a cool GUI and Flash based program called SoundFlow kicks in (like on VAIO M series) and has Time and Timer functions, can play your music library or your CD.
As you might notice this model seems to be very slim and can be your TV as well. It is very portable too. Features 15 and 19 inch LCD and built in Motion Eye.
VAIO L has a cool floating design, like their Sony WEGA XBR LCD TVs. Check out the Gallery for more pictures.
2. VAIO RC300 series is the first VAIO to get Blu-Ray drive.
3. a couple of new accessories: Speakers for notebooks - VGP-SP100
VAIO Webcam not very attarctive in my opinion.
a number of carry cases and designer bags (Kate Spade) for VAIO notebooks.
4. Sony also refreshed their VAIO H and VA series with new specs as well as their notebooks FE, F-TV series, SZ series.
Slim Design of VAIO H series
Industrial kind of design of VAIO VA series has interchangable color frames.
The desktops VA and H (shown above) get processor bumps (up to a P4 641 at 3.2GHz on one model) , analog and digital TV tuners, and new LCDs with resolutions up to 1366 x 768. The 20-inch version of the LCD also includes DVI-D for HD input (H series).
