Hey gang -
Boy have I searched around for an answer to this, so excuse me if this has been answered before (and in an obvious place!):
I have two TR1 computers, a TR1A and a TR1AP. Both of them are great, I love these machines and have just rebuilt both of them with Windows XP Pro and WinXP Service Pack 2.
The problem is when I plug in any USB 2.0 device (external hard drive, USB key, etc.) I get the error message “HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED USB Hub”. And the slow speed confirms this (and geez is it slow). It is exactly the same on both the left and the right USB ports. If I use the recovery CD/DVDs, both ports function perfectly as USB 2.0 high-speed ports.
I have installed the Sony Notebook Control, Sony Programmable I/O and the Sony Shared Library in the order recommended at:
I have also searched around this site, the Sony support site and Microsoft’s site, too, to no avail. It exhibits the same behavior on both computers. So far, I’ve gotten everything else to work flawlessly except the Motion Eye camera (it does not show up anywhere, despite install of the driver and countless searches—again, it works with the recovery CD system restore).
Any help would be most appreciated. I am very anal retentive and this is one of those things that is going to slowly eat away at my sanity.
Thanks,
Trapper
