Thanks for the info. It seems like the extended warranty is only for US? Do you have the URL where I can find more information on this? The PDF doesn’t provide any contact info ... and i can’t seems to find this in ita.sel.sony website.
hi, i got my tr for four or five days. is this a good time to buy cdw’s 2 years ADP warranty ($199.99)yet or wait until my sony’s warranty(1year) is almost over and then buy it.
ps: anyone lives in LA,CA USA knows where is the sony service places around this area?

It’s up to you…you can buy the ADP warranty extension any time while you TR is under warranty. The regular warranty is not the same as the ADP warranty. The ADP warranty covers a lot more stuff so if you’re afraid that the screen might get damaged then you should probably get the ADP warranty sooner.

Also, enter your zipcode to get a better estimate for yourself. I bought a TR3AP3 from newegg and had it shipped to NY since they charge ST in NJ.
If you can purchase this ADP warranty online at any time before the main Sony warranty runs out, does this mean that in theory you could wait until something bad happens, buy the warranty online, and than send it in to get fixed?
I coulnd’t fine any from Sony Site also. i think you have to buy it somewhere else such bestbuy, compusa, etc, or even online.

“You must register your extended service within 30 days of purchase to qualify for service.”
My understanding is, at least 30 days before your original Sony warantee expires.
Hey everyone, just ordered my S-170: 9700, XP Pro, 1.7ghz, 512mb (256x1), 80gb 5400rpm HD, DVD burner, wireless w/ bluetooth.
I really want the accidental damage coverage because the laptop will be moved ALOT. But I live in Florida and apparently its one of the states you can’t get it in…What do you think I should do?
