Ok so we all know that the X505 has its shortcomings, one being the lack of integrated Bluetooth. I’ve used the Sony PCGA-BA1 for a while but it always annoyed me that it was white. Trivial, yes, but that’s just me. I’ve been looking for a small BT adapter for quite some time and I was never able to find just the one that looked ok to me. Finally, I came across one on EBay that seemed like a good choice.
Here is the auction that I won; it ended up being about $18 shipped:
The actual device looks different then the one in the auction. It is very dark blue and only showed up lighter blue in the flash:
The neat thing about the device is the self covering latch thing that it has built in:
Anyway, it supports the standard IVT Bluesoleil so everything else is pretty much standard affair.
I’ve found the range to be just as good as my Sony one, and I didn’t have any setup or pairing issues. I liked the fact that it was thin and portable, fit perfectly next to my I-Stick in the other USB port, and looked rather sleek in the X505.
For under $20 I highly recommend the unit.
