I use my TX on a daily basis, about six or seven hours a day, and the smudges on the keyboard from having my fingers there so long are transferring to the screen.  The TX has got to be about the most attractive little notebook I’ve ever seen.  But the shiny screen doesn’t look very attractive when it’s smudged up.

What do folks use to clean their TXs?  I’ve just cleaned off both screen and keyboard with Windex (I squirted it on a paper towel first so that it wouldn’t get inside of the machine).  It works like a charm, but I’m afraid to use it on a regular basis.  I will have to clean my machine a couple of times a week to keep it in the kind of shape I want it in.

Well after you clean the screen, I would put a thin sheet of some sort of screen protector on your keyboard when you close the lid.

Every so often I need a damp cloth to clean the keyboard and exterior, but beyond that I can usually just rub it down with a nice sock or those microfiber cloths 3M makes for cameras/lenses.  To really get rid of the dust that sticks to the screen, I use a little air compressor.  I used to heep ‘canned air’ in the house but buying a little air compressor made alot more sense economically, even if it could be considered overkill.

i bought this cool screen cleaning kit made by laser which cost like $5 and had a guaranteed solution with an nice micro fibre cloth and you can use it on the screen and case. Worked great and doesn’t mess with my screen; i’d be worried using windex on an lcd.

You should be. Windex is bad due to the fact that there’s ammonia in it, which can etch the screen. Use an alcohol/water solution. The cheapest is mixing isporpyl alcohol from Duane Reade or CVS or something and water (a 50/50 mix is about right). There are also commercial LCD solutions. Paper towels are pulped wood cellulose and will leave micro-scratches on the LCD. Use a microfiber cloth like the ones you clean glasses or camera lenses with.

Any air compressor will do, the same ones used to inflate tires, power air tools, etc…

It’s a small, cordless number thats good enough to blow air on computers and inflate the occasional flat.  Although this one costs about $100, that amount only buys a handful of air cans.  Beyond the cleaning, a small air compressor has proven to be a useful thing to have around the house… and on long car trips.
