As you may know, the TR1/B (Japanese TR1) has internal Bluetooth, and an 802.11a / 802.11b card that switches via WIRELESS SWITCHER.
SO , I bought the Sony Vaio 802.11a access point ” PCWA-A500 ” ... plugged it in, plugged in the cable modem, switched to 802.11a on my tr1/b, scanned for wireless signals ... no detection on the TR1/B . After a bunch of BS for an hour, gave up and sent it back to Sony… they said it was FINE!
Sony gave it back… STILL NO SIGNAL for me! I read up on VAIO 802.11a and discovered a program SONY WIRELESS PANEL “5ghz wireless utility” that comes with the PCWA-C500 the PCMCIA 802.11a card that people usually buy with this access point. Since I have internal card though I cannot install this utility! The program asks me for the card (pcwa-c500)/ card drivers FIRST. WTF!
SOMEONE WITH TRUE INSIGHT, PLEASE HELP!
Thanks!
