Your only hope is to watch for it on Ebay, usually people who sell them take a great care of their precious U. You might wanna consider U50, U70 or U71P - all Japanese models but easy to convert to English if you really wanted to.
But again you never know with Sony, they might bring it back and make it even more appealing and slimmer next year.
[quote author=“miccoli”]writetovarun, if you have a friend in singapore, you might get him/her to help you get the U8/g. Its still on sale on the singapore vaio site.
The price is roughly about US$1600.
Thanks man. I do believe all models of U except U 750 are available either on ebay, or dynamism or kemplar. I did find something at Kurns & Patrick but its used and cost 1900 which is too much for a used piece. Compu America have a open box piece, ill call them up on monday and ask !
Just look out for deals for me you guys, ill call up comp usa and ask them about the deal on their site ! Kemplar have one but its old and selling for 1900 ! A bit too much for an old piece, date of sale december 2004. Chase and company have 1 too which is for about 2500 $.
Sounded a bit weird. Said he didnt really know the condition coz he was selling for his friend. Out of warranty too. Compuamerica.com, i called them up and they said they have refurbished units for 1794 on which they wouldnt accept returns. 3 months warranty from sony.
buy one in Oz. No one here pays what they are worth (it’s why I stopped bringing them in). The ones that are here sell cheap.
What about Conics in Japan. Used service will buy off japanese auction and send to you (converted to english too). They are cheap as chips in Japan (didn’t sell very well).
With the extended battery too. Compu-america cannot verify my cc for some reason, its quite daft, so my order is on hold. Im thinking ill cancel my order with them and go with the ebay auction.
