Of course, the model I’m eyeing is the high-end model…MZ-NH1
Supposed MSRP is estimated $400 in Japan…yikes! However, I look at how much the media costs and how it can record live audio as well (and transfer the data files back to the PC which MD’s couldn’t do before). It’s also fairly small…but we’ll see…
I just can’t get past the whole ATRAC copy protection scheme. NET MDs could be the next Ipod if Sony would just loosen the reins.
Back on topic:
I can’t go back to Palm OS in its current iteration. Maybe OS 6 will be enough of an improvement to sway me back. Pocket PCs are just too well integrated with Outlook/Windows.
I ended up ordering one of these, and with any luck it’ll ship next week. I’ve been a PocketPC user for several years now, but I needed a PDA with WiFi and a high res screen. PocketPC 2004 is far enough away that it’ll be upgrade time again when the second gen handhelds come out. That plus Amazon sent me a $100 gift certificate that’s burning a hole in my virtual wallet.
