Getting Windows Install Software from HD

Anyone have an easy way of saving it to another HD. I have a T250 and that’s 10 gig I need on my HD for other things. Besides, XP Pro seems a lot harder to work with in the wireless dept. I have Pro but want the Home edition. Wonder if I could just save it to an exterior HD.
