My small nephew throws my mobile on screen and here we go! LCD is broken

I have a TR3A bought from U.S. but am right now in India. I have no plans as of now to visit U.S. but I want to get my “baby” working again.

Can anybody suggest where I can get original LCD as what sony puts in may be as an option to import from U.S.? I tried am importer company in India and they are quoting whooping 24000 Rs. (500 US$)

Guys please help me out!

This is about rigth for the LCD. I think the LCD was ~430$ alone.

Just did some research and one of the site fairpriceshop is offering @ US$ 245 + 45 for shipping to India

Can anyone confirm if correct part number is LQ106K1LA01 from Sharp

Assuming the LCD module of TR3 is the same as TR5’s 10.6TFT WXGA - the part number is A-8068-213-A.

Would there be any difference betwen A-8068-213-A and the one from Sharp?

It is really hard to tell. Even if they look the same, they could have been bastartized by Sony to make them propriatary…

I am completely novice as far as hardware goes so just worried if the one from Sharp would be Xbrite and same quality?  Seller told that even Sony is buying Sharp’s screen

am not sure whee I am landing to but the cost differnece is huge

Yes, it is Xbrite indeed. The part number is derived from my copy of PCG-TR5x Service Manual; so it’s pretty much guaranteed.

Cost difference between Sharp and Sony is more then 150 US$, so I just wanted to make sure if Sharp will do the job or not and hope to hear from other “Guru” on this board

I don’t think anyone can answer this…

Consulted with some of the Sony Spare sellers and they said this should be the one

ordered one from US @ USD260 + shipping and will get it in 4 days

Will update the Board if it fits in well and performance

*** am a bit scared too

LQ106K1LA01 100% fits in Sony TR1, TR2, TR3 and TR5
