I decided to pick up this router a few weeks into the summer because I knew I was going to be doing quite a bit of traveling and I didn’t want to be tied down to a desk at hotels and such. I was able to get the router, with rebates, for under $45.

Description:
As you can see from the pics, the unit itself is about the size of a deck of cards, and weighs next to nothing. They include the router, 10/100 cable, power adapter, CDs, manual, and a carrying case.
Usability:
Setup is painless and my laptop picked it up right away. Doing some tests in my house I found my range to be significantly less then my Linksys WRT54G. Of course, that is expected since it’s a travel router. The connection, however, was solid and my notebook did not drop the signal when it was in range.
Conclusion:
It does what it’s advertised to. The case is a little tight and I had a hard time fitting the unit, cable, and power cord without it seeming like it would burst…but it didn’t. Unfortunately I didn’t use it as much as I expected. Only 2 of the 8 hotels I stayed at had 10/100 Ethernet, the rest had 802.11 wireless.
I know Linksys is expected to come out with one even smaller then this one…so if you don’t expect to travel in the near future, I might wait a bit.
