It’s interesting…i wonder if it shares the same hard-to-see-in-daylight as the rest of their magic OLED screens. I was hoping Sony would start implementing color OLED screens for showing album covers and other functionality.
Still the shape and layout is nicely done in typical Sony style. We’ll have to see what usability is really like.
I was wondering if that would be hard to see in the sun. Thats one thing the ipod has going for it, grayscale is amazing in the sun. I never had too much luck with walkmen…I had the Sony Sport one, with digital FM tuner, die on me, twice. I never got a third one.

EDIT: my first one, a basic black one, lasted forever, in fact, when I packed to go to MI I found it under my bed. Promptly put it back to re-discover it when i move back to NJ in a few years
You said it, OnMyWayUp. These are very workmanlike, sort of like what the kid you knew in high school that got straight As because he studied for 6 hours a day would do. There’s no inspiration. Next to a sexy device like the iPod Nano, these are just boring. After the NWA-600 series devices, I was hoping Sony would continue with some really cool designs.
And the Connect Player now looks like a purple version of iTunes, down to the rounded-off interface, search box and the fact that the menu, title bar and min/max/close buttons are all on a line at the top of the player…

Oddly enough, that’s a good thing since SonicStage sucks badly and iTunes has continued to refine its interface and ease-of-use.
Me and my buddies think it looks like a Williams & Sonoma Bath Soap since it comes with the soap dish…err…cradle.
[quote author=“Anonymous”]you guys are nuts, this is FAR better looking than the Nano. check out the large photo’s on the press page. it has a nice hypnotizing translucent blue, you cant even tell were the screen ends & the device begins, which is very “futuristic”.
the Nano is just the samething that Apple’s been releasing for years now, except smaller & thinner. just a very played out design, it’s starting to feel a bit “old”.
very futuristic, but the problem lies in the accesories. accessories are a little more conservative. look at the speakers picture… it almost looks like an alien egg sitting on my toilet seat. if you’re going to make something like that, you gotta have something that compliments it. plus they need to look at the backward compatibility a little better. apple’s adapter is sweet. it makes you wanna buy their new product cause it can connect to stuff you already own.
