To give a background, I never used any CD writing s/w in my TR3A.  So far whatever CDs I burnt was via Windows default Utility.

Today when I wanted to write a CD of some Data from my system, I insteted the blank Disc, tried to browse it and got an Error “E:\ is not accessble” “Invalid Function”.

Then I insrted a CD with some Songs in it and it played well :-?

So now my TR3A is not able to access a Blank CD and produces the above Error

is there a way I can find out where exactly the problem is?

tried with couple of blank CDs later but the problem persists :-(

I had the same problem with my TR5. I sent it back to sony and they replaced the dvd writer in it.

May be you should consider doing the same?

Sounds like what happened to me (there is a thread here discussing it).

I ended up reinstalling Windows.

I downloaded a CD writing s/w from net (smth called HT Fireman) and I am able to write the CDs

but windows utilities still not working!!

also which version of Nero is compatible with XP home?
