Alright folks…. the much anticipated PSP firmware 2.0 is now available for download in Japan. However, the big question is can we applied it to US PSP? Well… I’m pleased to report that it does! :D I’ve applied the Japanese firmware on my US PSP and it works just fine; no problems with Region 1 UMD Movie playback as well. So, go get it folks: download here
Upgrade Instructions
Copy the firmware file: EBOOT.PBP into your PSP Memory Stick Update folder—> ROOT\PSP\GAME\UPDATE. Once the firmware is in the folder, navigate and load the firmware 2.0 - your US PSP will recognize the firmware immediately. Ensure that you have at least 60% of battery capacity prior to the update. Enjoy!
