Well guys, I fixed it.
I talked to a Sony tech and he explained to me that when you upgrade the ram, or anything for that matter, the recovery disc will cause problems. The recovery disc is for a specific model with a specific amount of ram. Mine had been upgraded to 1 gig. I removed on ram chip and tried running the disc and still had problems. Then I tried removing the otherside of the ram and it worked great. Total recovery.
The tech went on to say that ANYTHING you added would probably cause this problem. All I have to do now is put the ram back in since the recovery disc worked.
Just thought I would share this with you. So far it has worked for several hours with no problems.
