I am travelling to the states next month for three weeks (new york state to texas by car and plane). I would like to hear some advice on the most cost effective pre-paid plans available. I will be using about 20 to 30 minutes of voice and I would like to have a decent data (GPRS) rate. I note that with Cingular’s pay as you go the data costs $10 per megabyte (rather high).

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
