Just to clarify, I had the BP3T from Ubid.com over a month now. So it’s plausible to state that the battery arrived with no charge cycle at all.

Got the battery today via uBid.  I’ve posted some shots of me opening the boxes up, for those who are interested.

It certainly seems like a truly authentic Sony refurb BP3T. 

The only minor negative:  the ‘REFURBISHED’ sticker was placed on the top of the battery, making the whole TR, not just the battery, appear as though it’s a refurb in meetings / professional places—whoever may be looking at your TR from the other side of the screen.  A little Goo-Gone will take care of that.

Guess what??? That Refurb Sticker comes off very easily! So you do not have to worry about it.

Most of the time Ubid sells brand new Sony products repackaged and Refurb sticker put on just for policies they have to follow.

0 charge ??? This is really too tempting ! I have juz upgraded my internal BT ... hmm .... Sony is very good at getting its customers to spend more ...  :D

Just in case anyone’s interested, I bought a non-Sony one from eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6787016187&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1. Seller was “powergears”. Overall I’m fairly pleased with the device - it fits snugly to the machine, the rubber feet match the existing ones and generally it looks perfectly like it came with it.

On the battery life front, it’s not quite so great - I get about 7-8hrs of “normal” use (emailing with wireless on) and about 6hrs playing Command and Conquer. Not that, ahem, I did actually play it for six hours solid. Honest.

I know a lot of this depends on lots of other settings and other things I have running - to put it in context, I got somewhere between 4 and 4.5hrs out of the standard battery when it was new (I get about 4hrs now).

The one I bought from eBay cost $90, which is pretty good value if you ask me.

Guys how much power do you get with your extended S series batteries. Its weird coz im only getting about 3 hours with it on full power. Is it normal ? I only charged it for about an hour before using it (it said 100 %). I believe its brand new coz thats what the ebay sale said

It may just need to be calibrated… otherwise…  u were screwed :?  ... I get a good 3:30-4 hours on my S’s one year old stock batt…. (Sometimes less however :(  )
