Last nite I tried to install winxp media center 2005 on my x505cp however I still could not get all original vaio drivers to be fully installed…does anybody know how to install Sony Notebook controller, Programmable I/O Controller and Hotkey??? and other drivers located on c:\drivers….. :cry:  :cry:

Why would you want Media Center on X505?  :?

I’ll have to concur…why would you want XP MCE 2005 on your X505? It seems like overkill if all you want is some sort of unified media front end for your media files (on that voluminous 20GB HDD). There are plenty of other (some free and some not free) front ends that you can use if you just want the interface.

downloaded all drivers already, but still can not install(not for my machine , only for vgn-x505zp), mine is japanese version…what should I do…anyidea??

You can try doing an install, but it will fail…however, before you press ok, look in your temp directories for the files it unpacked. Copy those files elsewhere and try running the setup from there. You may need to change the setup.ini files as well. It may be looking for an Japanese OS but you can simply change it to English.

by the way how to install drivers such as sony notebook ctrl, sony PI, NorthBridg..South Bridge since they don’t all have setup.exe??

You dont need install North and South Bridge, this is chipset driver.
Sony PI and NC, you just right click on .inf and click Install
