Hello all…
My boss has a TR3AP2 which he takes home with him on weekends. At his home, he has a Netgear WG602 Access Point which bridges to a WG302 in his office (which is in a separate building).
He has an Apple G5 tower in his office that communicates perfectly with the WG302…gets an IP and everything. The TR3AP2, however, sees the WG302 but cannot get an IP address from it. Gets a 169 self-assigned IP. The issue can’t be with the WG302, because other computers hook up to it properly.
If he brings the TR3 anywhere else in his house where the WG602 provides network, it communicates perfectly with the WG602 and gets a proper IP. So the problem can’t be the TR3’s wireless card, because it happily hooks up to lots of other wireless networks.
It seems the issue is the relationship between the WG302 and the TR3AP2. Neither of them are problematic on their own…its only when you try to put them together that you have a problem.
Does this even remotely like anything anyone’s seen? Can anyone offer insight on how any of this can be?
Thanks!
