I got the some trouble with slow speed also, here is what I have done.
After doing my last reinstall, since I found my computer was still slow, I try to chase what was the problem.
What I’ve done :
- I’ve install an application call CCleaner, to clean of useless files on my computer.
- I’ve run, Spybot to finish the clean
- I’ve run chkdsk on both partitions.
- I’ve done an unfragment on both partitions too
- Full scan with Norton Antivirus (useful since I found I had a fuc.. trojan comes from nowhere since my antivirus is always switch on).
After all this, I found my computer was running much better than before and specially the boot. My thoughts about all this, is that when you do a reinstall, for whatever reason, the chkdsk is really useful (specially when you use the recovery disk). Also, since I always installed a bunch of application with my reinstall, an unfragment is also useful. At the end, I have the feeling that Norton Antivirus is doing some crap until he proceed with a full scan of the computer. He seem more quite since, but not completely sure about this.
At the end, I found my TR is running faster with battery remove when plugged on AC than with it. I think I heard about this behaviour on S Series, but I was not sure about TR. Of course, I didn’t make benchmark about this, but just a feeling.
Now I am more happy with my TR, since he recover some speed.
