Hi There,

Could anyone tell me where I can get a restore disc for my T1XP to put it back to how it was when I bought it.  I have looked at sony website but the link I need is currently down.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well what you need are the restore discs that come with the laptop.  If you didn’t get these in the box then they might be on a hidden partition on the laptop and require burning off onto cd/dvd.  If neither of those help you then I believe you’ll have to contact sony and ask them to send you a copy of the discs.  They normally charge for this but some people on here have managed to get them for free through a little ‘light persuasion’  8)

As far as I know Sony VAIOs don’t come with recovery discs anymore, so:

If you haven’t ever formatted your HD and/or deleted the hidden partition, you can restore by either 1) Going into Control Panel and using Vaio Recovery.  2) Reboot the computer, and as the VAIO logo comes up, press F10.  Either way you’ll be able to wipe the hard drive to the factory state.

If you have gotten rid of the hidden partition, then like Mighty Matt suggested you will have to go to Sony DAPC and order recovery cds.
