I have the Dell 1905fp and it has the “rotation” feature.  Can the TR support this feature by rotating the OS when I rotate the Dell’s screen.  If so, how?

I’m not sure if the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 supports rotation. Even if it did, the switching will not be automatic. You’ll have to manually do it through the control panel or create some sort of hotkey.

Ok, strike that. According to this , the chipset does support screen rotation. So, you’ll still probably have to manually enable it.

I have the Dell 2005FPW and I have to manually tell my graphics card to switch. It doesn’t come with the swanky software that Samsungs or LGs come with.

How do I set this feature up?

I’ll check on my TR later tonight…I suspect you can’t do it with the shipping drivers and you may need to use the latest Intel reference drivers (which breaks the ZOOM functionality).

I’ll post if I find out.

Out of curiousity, doesnt the U and the TR have the same chipset? If so, my U supports a form of zoom…am I getting somewhere or is my mind just wandering?

Rotation should be accessible by: Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Intel Extreme Graphics > Graphics Properties > Rotation (tab)... but since that tab isnt there u have to go into a command line console, type regedit and search through the first tree (something about root) and find intel and look for the tree that has rotation. You have to set it to all 1’s instead of 0’s. Hope that helps :? ... I could be more detailed if i still had the TR but since my S is ATI i don’t kno how the TR’s registry tree is… sry

Daywalker walked me through it but i think it was one of those countless threads that was deleted do to excessive emotional tension...

What a tease!  Thanks anyway, dude.  Does Daywalker still ‘walk’ these streets?  Maybe he remembers the registry thread.  I hope.

nopes, I think he left because some of us didn’t treat him nicely or atleast that was his reason

I didn’t think this would be so hard.  I’ve been on Intel’s support site and have also done some extensive google searching and still cannot make the ‘rotation tab’ show up in the graphics dialog box.  I guess Sony has disabled it through the registry.  I have the latest Extreme graphics driver.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Well I did a google and searched through the registry for ‘rotation’ and ‘intel’ but got bored as there were loads of entries for them.

It’s function whereby you can rotate the screen through 90, 180 or 270 degrees so that you can have your monitor in portrait mode.  It is also used by tablets so you can hold the screen either way up to suit your needs.
