Basically I am desgruntled with most and I’m looking for something fresh that is stylish…... you know of any?

How about that “cherryblossom leaves” screensaver posted by gr00vy0ne awhile back?

The funny thing is, I’ve like the Sony ScreenSaver that came in my S.. I basically use it to show off how beautiful the screen is..    I guess many of the S series owners do.. pop up that screensaver..  and many of my friends would say WOW all the time.. they’ll say it’s realistic..  :shock:

Despite my appreciation for design, I don’t really like screen savers. I prefer just having the monitor turn off. Maybe that’s just me listening to those stories about server admins leaving the 3D Pipes screensaver on NT servers and having them slow to a crawl doing 3D rendering.

I use the My Pictures slide show that Windows provides.  Theres no screen saver better than watching my kids grow up all over again. 8)

I’d save my x brite screen for brightness thank you very much. No screensaver for me. Lots of talk about the x brite not staying as bright after a few months.

Cylog’s 3D Dissolve one has been my favourite for a very long time!!!
It’s been out years!
It’s very simple, but will keep you hypnotised for days!
On an old NT4 machine it used to run like the clappers!!!

you will be able to notice it only if you compare your’s after 5-6 months of usage with a brand new one.

I’m still stuck with the Matrix code emulator screensaver both on my desktop and laptop vaios.

i am under the assumption that lcd panels including the xbrite do not need a screensaver at all. is that true?  as for xbrite fading, i’ve had a tr on for almost 2 years now and it shows no sign of getting dimmer…

but when i want to use my monitor as object’d art, i use the Itunes Visualizers - Gforce is pretty pyscho - and it’s already installed.  i don’t trust those screensavers u download from the web, i think someofthem contain spyware…

LCDs do suffer from burn-in, but from what I understand it takes much longer than CRTs. I’ve seen LCDs, particularly at places like airports, with pretty severe burn-in problems.

As far as I understand LCDs do no suffer from burn-in and when/if they do get it, it is only temp. and will fix itself. The TV’s at airports are usually Plasma because they are much much cheaper. Plasma’s do suffer from burn-in that can’t be fixed.

I could be wrong, but it’s what i’ve read…

i guess this is something we should figure out! Do or Dont. judging from my exp. with 2 trs, is that they don’t.  i just got a new samsung syncmaster720b and would not want anything to happen to that!

anybody know anything about the coating on these?  so much different then the xbrite.  it does not seem to collect dust for some reason…?  the xbrite collects a film of dust in just a few days…
