Hi all,

I am using a commercial software for my research work and it needs a licence dongle to be attached on my machine in order to work. The problem is the dongle comes in the pallarel printer port connection, but my S doesn’t have the printer port but only USB ports. I am wondering if anyone here knows is there any adapter/converter that can convert the USB port to the pallarel printer port?

It is very urgent, and your helps is very much needed! Many thanks!  :D

Belkin makes a usb to printer port adapter that should work.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the other end is the wrong type in which it is a printer Centronic 36 pin port. What I need is to convert the USB port in my laptop to the Female end (25 pin) of the parallel printer port. Exactly like what you find behind your desktop CPU or some laptop.

By the way, I’ve found some adapter which converts the USB to 25 pin Serial port, is the Serial port behave like the Parallel port? Can I connect my dongle which is supposed to connect to the Parallel port, instead connecting it to the Serial port? Since they both have 25 pins…??  :?:

Please advice!

Sorry, I should be 25 ‘holes’ at the other end instaed of pins….

    Have you tried Maplin Electronics?
There is one on Cheetham Hill Road, Oxford Road near your house and Another opposite Harry Ramsdens in town.
Where the retail outlet is opposite, same site as Sainsbury’s, TKMax etc.

Hi DarkHero, thanks for that! I have tried Maplin last week, and with no luck they don’t have it. I have also just been to the PCWorld Business and apparently they don’t have one either.  :(  By the way, have you managed to extent the TR warranty? I hope your doughter enjoy using it!  :D

If anyone here has any idea about where to get the cable/adapter, please tell me as I do urgently need it! Many thanks!  :|
