Hi Bindaerice
As the 802.11g is notionally 5x faster than the b variant you would notice quite a difference in transfering files between computers but I wouldn’t expect much difference in downloading files. I presume that you have a broadband connection. In the UK the fastest is 2Mbps so the b standard wifi running at 11Mbps is more than adequate.
RAM is the memory, needed while applications are running while the GB bit refers to room on the hard drive for storing files. As every month new applications get more and more memory hungry, the rule of thumb is
More is better!
Then again what seems like an excessive amount out RAM now will probably seem be lightweight in a couple of years. It’s always a problem with buying a computer. Do I buy mid-range knowing that I will upgrade in 18 mths or go for the highest range and hope it is adequate in 3 yrs :?
