I used to use Windows XP and redhat on my old laptop, they worked fine. But now I have a smaller hard disk (only 20G) in my X505, I am wondering which linux has smaller size (I mean, for example, about or less than 1 G after installation)? I do not need the Office softwares or any other multimedia softwares in linux system, windows is more convient for me if I want to use those kind of softwares. The reason I want to use linux is I have one important software (for my work) it only run on Linux or unix.
Since I use windows for most time, and the hard disk is kind of small, I have to shrink the size of linux. I can only assign 1.5-2 G for the linux system including applications.
By the way, I am not really a linux guy, so I really like a nice GUI and easy use linux system.
