i have a friend who needed a small laptop after realizing that she couldn’t lug around her 8 pound laptop around with her to classes at college. after going through her budget and needs, i recommended a tr. we got a tr3a from newegg for $1400, which i thought was an excellent price.
well, 15 minutes after turning it on for the very first time, her wireless goes out suddenly. we try rebooting and restoring, putting on updated drivers, but no luck. after 3 sony reps, they finally agreed to take it back and fix it. essentially what was going on was that windows could identify that there was some hardware, but couldn’t associate any drivers to it because the device wouldn’t start.
hopefully, she’ll get it back within a week. she loves the machine and thinks that it’ll serve her well in school.
in the meantime, i’m still trying to convince my wife that i need an x505 AND a t…
