Well Sony as usual brought us some new toys as the year unfolds. Specifically:
1. Roomlink - VGP-MR100
The new body has Linux in it and now also features compliance with DLNA guidelines (DLNA, “Digital Living Network Alliance,” is an industry effort to standardize media communications across home networks). It supports HD content and it still plays MPEG-1/2/4 (and DivX) and WMV video, ATRAC3 and MP3 audio.
For some reason Sony included only b/g protocol in it. I wish Sony incorporated a/b/g Atheros SuperG chip inside that network media player.
2. DVD-+ DL RW drive - PCGA-DDRW3
New slim drive for your notebook and upgrade to PCGA-DDRW2 - now supports DLx2.4 It is funny that Sony stayed with an older model abbreviation: PCGA not some VGP.
3. Some new cases for your notebooks. I like this one - VGP-CKFS1
Cute, huh? Everyone will know there is a nice VAIO in it.
3. Black floppy for your notebook - VGP-UFD1
Same ole floppy drive only in black.
