Hey guys,

I was wondering what is the min free space you need on your HD. For example on my 30g HD that s the amount of free space i should always keep? Because, i have ripped 3 DVD s and my disk can barealy breath :D

May that be the reason why i get some windows errors?

Just cheking, but that can t be the reason why my pc always reboot when i try to get it out the hibernation mode… that s only a ram problem right ?!

Personally I like to keep about 10 gigs free(no seriously I don’t know why)

probably in the space of 1 or 2 gigs, just to be safe? ie: you download files/install a program.

I would recomend keeping 15 to 20 percent of the HDD open.  The usual minimum needed for defrag to run properly is 15 percent.  So if you have a 40 GB drive = 37.2 GB actual.  There should be about 6 to 7 GB of unused space.  For an exact pecentage or drive usage just look at the properties or run an analysis of your HDD with windows defrag.

This is what i do and i don’t have any problems.  To keep the clutter off of my TR i use external HDD’s.  I am sure you can use the HDD all up, but there wouldn’t be a way to get defrag to properly run.

You need atleast as much space as you have ram in order to hibernate…

I thought the disk space for hibernate was reserved as a hidden file when you enable hibernation.
